Port Aransas Fishing Report – Redfish, Speckled Trout and Black Drum Are Biting

Fishing along the Texas Coastal Bend has been producing some good action for redfish, speckled trout, and black drum. Whether you're planning a fishing trip in Port Aransas, looking for an Aransas Pass fishing guide, or interested in a Rockport inshore fishing charter, October is a great time to get out on the water.

I'm Captain Justin Coghlan, owner and fishing guide at Clean Fun Fishing. I run guided inshore fishing trips throughout Port Aransas, Aransas Pass, Ingleside, Rockport, and Corpus Christi Bay. Here's what's been working lately and what anglers can expect as fall fishing continues.

Port Aransas Fishing Report – Redfish, Trout and Black Drum

The Port Aransas fishing report has been looking good, with redfish, speckled trout, and black drum providing action throughout the surrounding bay systems.

Live shrimp under a popping cork has been one of my go-to techniques for targeting trout and redfish. Fishing around grass flats, channel edges, and areas with moving water can produce some good bites.

A Carolina rig with live shrimp has also been effective for black drum and redfish, especially when fishing along deeper edges and structure.

For anglers who enjoy artificial lures, 4-inch paddle tail soft plastics and 1/4-ounce gold spoons have been producing fish. Gold spoons are especially useful when covering shallow grass flats looking for feeding redfish.

Aransas Pass Fishing Report – Inshore Fishing Action

Fishing around Aransas Pass and Ingleside continues to offer opportunities for anglers targeting several popular saltwater species.

Redfish can be found cruising shallow grass flats and feeding along drop-offs. Live shrimp under a popping cork is a reliable choice, while a 1/4-ounce gold spoon can be productive when fish are actively feeding.

Speckled trout have been responding to live shrimp and soft plastic paddle tails. Working channel edges, grass lines, and areas with current can help locate feeding fish.

Black drum are another good target around Aransas Pass. Fishing live shrimp on a Carolina rig near deeper structure, rock edges, and drop-offs can produce steady action.

If you're searching for Aransas Pass fishing charters, Aransas Pass fishing guides, or an updated Aransas Pass fishing report, Clean Fun Fishing offers guided trips for beginners, experienced anglers, and families.

Rockport Fishing Report – Fall Inshore Fishing Trips

October is a great month to plan a Rockport fishing trip. As water temperatures begin cooling, redfish and speckled trout can become more active throughout the surrounding bay systems.

Shallow grass flats, potholes, and channel edges are all worth exploring when targeting redfish. Live shrimp, gold spoons, and soft plastic lures are good options depending on water conditions and fish activity.

Speckled trout can be caught using live shrimp under a popping cork or paddle tail soft plastics. Early morning topwater fishing can also improve as fall weather patterns develop.

For anglers searching for Rockport fishing reports, Rockport guided fishing trips, or inshore fishing charters in Rockport, TX, I offer a relaxed fishing experience focused on helping customers catch fish and enjoy their time on the water.

Family Fishing Trips in Port Aransas, Rockport and Aransas Pass

Not every fishing trip needs to be about catching the biggest fish. Some of the best trips are watching kids catch their first redfish or helping someone learn how to fish with a popping cork.

At Clean Fun Fishing, I specialize in family-friendly guided fishing trips. I welcome beginners, children, couples, and experienced anglers who want to enjoy a day fishing the Texas Coastal Bend.

My trips are private, and I provide fishing rods, reels, tackle, bait, and fish cleaning for bait-fishing trips. Water and Gatorade are also included.

I can accommodate up to three adult customers, or four customers when children are included, depending on the group's weight.
