The fishing action continues to be excellent along the Texas Coastal Bend, with anglers enjoying steady catches of speckled trout, redfish, and black drum throughout the Rockport, Aransas Pass, and Port Aransas area. Speckled trout fishing has been outstanding this week. Most of our trout are being caught along grass edges and drop-offs in 3 to 6 feet of water. Popping corks paired with shrimp-style soft plastics have been producing consistent results, especially during the early morning hours when bait activity is highest. Many of the trout we're catching are healthy fish feeding aggressively as the seasonal pattern remains strong.

Redfish continue to provide exciting action for anglers of all skill levels. We've been finding redfish cruising shorelines, marsh drains, and shallow grass flats throughout the bays. Fresh cut bait and live shrimp have been the top producers, with several trips resulting in multiple slot redfish being landed. The redfish bite has been especially productive during moving tides.

Black drum have also been cooperating well, offering great opportunities for families and beginning anglers. Live shrimp fished near deeper channels and structure have been producing steady catches of quality drum.
