Port Aransas Fishing Charters: Inshore Fishing on the Texas Coast
Fishing around Port Aransas has been producing some great opportunities for inshore anglers lately. I’ve been spending time fishing the bays and waters around Port Aransas, Aransas Pass and Ingleside, targeting the species that make this part of the Texas Coastal Bend such a great place to fish. Whether you’re visiting Port Aransas for vacation or live here in South Texas, an inshore fishing trip is a great way to spend a morning on the water.
What’s Biting Around Port Aransas
The inshore bite can change from day to day, which is one of the things I enjoy about fishing this area. Redfish, speckled trout, black drum and mangrove snapper can all provide good opportunities depending on the conditions and where the fish are holding. I don't rely on just one spot or one species. If the bite slows down, I'll change locations, adjust bait presentations or target a different species to give my customers the best opportunity I can.
That flexibility is especially important when fishing the Port Aransas and Aransas Pass area.
Bait and Tactics for Port Aransas Inshore Fishing
Live shrimp continues to be one of my favorite baits for inshore fishing. Depending on the conditions and species I'm targeting, I may fish shrimp under a popping cork, free-line it or put it near the bottom. Cut bait can also be effective when targeting redfish and black drum.
Conditions such as tide movement, wind and water clarity all play a role in deciding where and how I fish. Instead of using the same setup every trip, I adjust to what the fish are doing that morning.

You don't have to be an experienced angler to enjoy a fishing trip in Port Aransas.
I enjoy taking families, kids, couples and first-time anglers fishing. I'm happy to help with everything from baiting a hook and casting to fighting and landing fish.
My goal is to keep the trip relaxed and enjoyable while giving everyone a chance to learn and catch fish. Rods and reels are provided for my regular bait-fishing trips, and I also clean the fish at the end of the trip.
